Abdul rejoins Cowell as 'X Factor' judge


Paula Abdul will be rejoin at the judging table with Simon Cowell, this time on Fox's "The X Factor," a person known with the conference said Saturday.

Although widely estimated, confirmation of Abdul's unification the new singing challenge was held up as debate continued until the eve of the show's opening taping, according to the someone known with the talks. The person spoke on the state of secrecy because Fox and the show's producers had not authorized people comment.

Representatives for Abdul did not answer to desires for comment.

Anything the holdup, it had nobody to do with any former promise between Abdul and CBS, which featured her on "Live to Dance" prior this year. She was just released by the network from any additional obligations, an individual at CBS said Saturday, speaking on the situation of anonymity because the network had not authorized people conversation of the issue.


"Live to Dance" was a talent opposition series starring Abdul that premiered on CBS in January. It was a ratings droop.

Abdul will be on hand for Sunday's taping in Los Angeles of the first judging conference for "The X Factor." This will join up her with fellow judge Cowell, her earlier sparring partner on the "American Idol" judging panel. Other previously announced judges consist of British pop superstar Cheryl Cole and Grammy-winning producer Antonio "L.A." Reid.

"The X Factor," based on Cowell's hit British show, will introduction this fall on Fox.

The 48-year-old Abdul is a performer, choreographer and soundtrack artist. She reigned on "Idol" as the nice if now and then dizzy-seeming judge who often clashed brightly with Cowell in his role as local bullyboy. She left "Idol" in 2009, after eight seasons.

Late Saturday, Fox definite that co-hosts of "The X Factor" will be Steve Jones and Nicole Scherzinger. Jones is a popular TV host in Britain. Scherzinger is a previous member of the girl group the Pussycat Dolls who has appeared on the British description of "The X Factor."
"The X Factor" is release to solo singers and vocal groups age 12 and up. The champion will get a million record contract.
